The broadline food system is in shambles. It has never been more expensive to shop at the store; between corporate capture of our regulators and straight-up greedflation, the quality is dubious, the labels misleading, and prices are high.
Your chef-inspired personal shopper.
Weekly, chef-curated boxes with locally-raised, sustainably-farmed or wild-harvested proteins, organic legumes and grains, our own ferments, preserves, sauces and seasonings, and a plethora of locally-farmed, organic vegetables. We shop and curate your larder and pantry, all at grocery store prices. For the cost of food going into 2025, you deserve the highest quality.
How does it work?
We thoughtfully craft an eight-week season of chef-curated boxes bursting with fine local foods. Somewhere between a CSA box and a meal kit, each week will have a loose theme that can be translated into a grand meal for your family, or you can stock these fine foods and cook them throughout the week as you wish. Our proteins are restaurant quality, unavailable to the casual consumer, and our produce is organic and locally-farmed. Every Wednesday we’ll send a preview email letting you know the gist of that week’s box contents, as well as share the premium supplements we’ve sourced for you. Pickup is on Saturdays, and you can choose between our convenient locations on Bainbridge Island or Downtown Seattle.
Within a season, you can select weekly or every-other-week service. You can skip a week if you’ve got other plans, and you can cancel anytime. Boxes are $100 each.
Didn’t you guys used to do something like this?
Indeed; during the pandemic, we launched this program so our guests could enjoy restaurant-quality meals at home. We aimed to support our producers, inspire our guests to push themselves in their kitchens at home, and enjoy the fine foods they’ve come to expect at our restaurants. Since we couldn’t eat out, we figured this would be the next best thing.
Going into 2025, the impetus is different, but the mission is the same. The price of groceries has gone up astronomically. Our farmers produce brilliant produce, but continue to struggle to connect directly with consumers. It feels like everyone is having a hard time navigating the new economics, especially where it pertains to food. We’re inspired to bridge the gap, and in the process build a more robust and sustainable local food system.
What’s in the box?
It’s different every week, but here’s the general format:
A premium protein - pasture-raised beef or lamb, wild fin fish, pastured poultry (duck, chicken, goose), wild game, regeneratively-raised shellfish
Legumes, whole grains, artisanal flours, cereals, meals, and beans
Ferments, fruit preserves, and pickled vegetables from our own WSDA-inspected fermented foods plant
Spices, blends and rubs from our importing partners
Artisanal cheeses, raw milk, and cultured dairy products
A plethora of freshly-harvested, organically-raised and big-time loved-up-on vegetables from our own farm as well as our farmer-partners
